The three babies have hatched!

Bandit is such a good mama.

So tiny and sweet.
I made up a safe private place for the little family on the floor, moved Bandit, then one by one her little brood. Hearing her mama clucking sound and then them responding with their little peep just warmed my heart. Way better than a heat lamp ever did.
In other news..

On our bike ride yesterday we stopped at a garage sale, we had to go home and get $ and the car because I found this cool sculpturey lamp. I do realize this photo makes the lampshade look like one of those pig ears that the dogs chew on, but in person it is so cool, not brown but an earthy green.
Just the right lighting my den was searching for, and for a whopping 75 cents!
Also back on June 28th, 1985, is when my best guy friend and I decided to start dating.
I was going to go and find an old photo album with a picture of us, scan it, load it on my blog, and then write up some hearts and flowery mushy mush.
But now my old busy self decided that was too much work.
So I'll just say it has been a Twenty three year roller coaster ride, highs and lows with a bit of nausea thrown in now and then, but it was the best decision my teenage self ever made.

Happy BIRTH day to Bandit and those adorable babies!
And Happy Anniversary to you and your beau!
And that lamp for some reason reminds me of those 'ant farms' where you can see the ant trails and tunnels throug the glass! haha
(Don't beat me up for now never being able to look at that lamp the same way, k?)
I simply MUST see a picture of you and your sweetie from 1985!! Get to it, girl!
Those babies are the sweetest - will they call you "Grandma" or just "Grammy"?
Nice find on the lamp!
twinville- The Jersey Giant chicks look a bit like little penguins.
Now I know what to call my lamp, my pig ear ant farm lamp.
farmgirl- Ok, but because of you I am now feeling guilty about the mess in the basement storage area.
I feel much less like a grammy and more like a godmother.
That little lamp makes me so happy.
I love momma chickens. They are sooooo attentive and seem to always be talking to their chicks.
Happy Anniversary to you and your sweetie!
Cool lamp. Love the shade.
What??!! How does me DEMANDING to see a vintage 1985 picture of you cause you guilt about the fact that your kids have made an incredible tent city down there in which they now live??!! And, anyway, I have this conversation with my sister all the time...I can't MAKE you feel guilty, only YOU can TAKE ON the guilt. :-) (but seriously...guilty? WHY-O-WHY?)
Thanks Ceecee.
Farmgirl-The tent city is in the nice part of the basement, the photos were in the dark and spooky place. Spooky due to the fear of having a mountain of crap falling on me while digging for old photos.
