So's I gets home and my house is COLD. 60 degrees inside. We have this weird thing about turning on the heat during medium cold days. Two years ago we made it till November 18th before turning on the heat. So I trudge out to the wood pile (leftover from last year) and discover my pup had pulled off the tarp that protects the wood from the rain in order to seek and destroy any mice that may have moved in. Wet wood, my favorite. (sarcasm again) Well I got a fire going and my house is now up to 64 degrees and I feel a tad bit better. 68 degrees Yay!
Ok, I taught myself how to knit through a book, then taught myself how to knit continental style due to my shoulder aching. I know how to knit but in no way shape or form consider myself a knitter. I know how to do the knit stitch and nothing more.
Here is a scarf i am working on. Pretty and funky.
So after all the knitting while waiting in the car for various soccer practices and what not. I GET THIS! Who would ever wear this thing? Maybe some one with a square foot. So if you are some poor soul with square feet, I have a great pattern for you. I don't know if I can even finish up the sides of the second one because I cant seem to knit while having a giggle fit.
If anyone out there has an easy sock pattern that when you are done actually looks like a sock that would fit a human foot, could you please let me know about it. I love to knit but the tricky stuff gets intimidating.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I think you are on to something with the bundt cake pan and powered sugar.
I love to knit, but don't have much time for it. I knit a pair of socks a few years ago, but don't think I will be making another pair anytime soon.
First, these weren't just socks, they were sweaters for his feet. He wears a size 12 - really, I could have made 2 baby sweaters. They were toe up and by the time I got one done, I really had to force myself to make the other. Here is the other thing...most people don't like hand knit socks. My kids won't wear them (my mother in law knits a lot) because they usually don't stay up like store bought socks, they are sometimes rough depending on the yarn and needle size, they are really slick and sometimes too hot. So, after all of that the pattern I used was the toe up version from Elann.com under free patterns. They have some nice sock yarn too. Sorry, this was more like a post than a comment.
Heather
those socks look great! i knit socks, but it took me forever to get it down! it was so frustrating! ha. i am a slow learner! have a great day!!
This was one of the first knitting patterns I followed. There is no heel shaping, just increasing and decreasing. As long as you get the foot length right it would be hard to go wrong :)
